Catalog of Stars

Design iterations of the same character, the asterisk (*), were created daily for 78 consecutive days. Every iteration had to be a completely different expression of the character with no limitations. Afterwards, each design was compiled together as an experimental booklet.

These visuals were created in Adobe Illustrator using the Plucker and Bloat effect on various groupings of shapes. Other effects such as Tweak, Twist, Pixelate, and Colour Halftone were applied to create unique looks.

The cover was printed in separate layers, then cut and pasted onto each other to create a design that “breaks free” from the boundaries of a traditional printed book.
